The above quote by Mr. Rogers, perfectly sums up my teaching philosophy at NECP.
I loosely base my lessons on the K-2 Physical Education, Health & Wellness curriculum. Each week, students typically participate in three stations, which fall within the following categories.
1. Obstacle Course
The obstacle course consists of locomotor and nonlocomotor movements. Locomotor movements include jumping, hopping, galloping, and skipping. Nonlocomotor movements include balancing, climbing, and rolling.
2. Manipulative
Manipulative skills include throwing, catching, kicking, volleying, and striking.
3. Fun!
This station may include scooters, ribbon wands, hula hoops, dancing, Yoga, and more!
